About me
My story
I am an educator, consultant, speaker, and storyteller, with over 30 years of experience helping individuals and communities learn, connect, and grow. I have a B.S. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in early childhood and elementary education and a M.Ed. in Family Education from the University of Minnesota. In 2024 I founded, Judi Speaks, this platform, offering speaking, education, and consulting on a wide range of topics from Holocaust education to parenting children with unique qualities, to supporting families navigating medical crises. I am the first American-born member of my family, and the granddaughter of four Holocaust Survivors. In 2017 I co-founded Generations After MN, through the Jewish Community Relations Council, as a space for third generation descendants to share, learn, and build community. My lifelong commitment to advocacy and education is reflected in my volunteer work with The Pacer Center, Minneapolis Crisis Nursery, Camp Odayin, The Ronald McDonald House, and Children’s Hospital and Clinics of Minnesota, all of which are amazing institutions. I was honored with the World Saver Award at the Minneapolis Jewish Federation’s Pearl Society Women of Intention Event in 2022. I have also had the privilege of sitting on the boards of NCJW (National Council of Jewish Women) Minnesota and the IHRE (Institute of Holocaust Research and Education).
